Where to destroy documents ?

Featured Replies

Hi. I have 3 boxes of documents that I need to destroy. They content customers name, bank references and other private data... so I can't just throw them in the garbage. There are also way too many pages to use a shredder.

In my country I would bring them to the waste collection station where they use an incinerator for such documents.

Someone knows about a solution in Pattaya ? Thanks

Go out in an isolated are and burn them. Be careful that you burn everything.

I was hesitating to give this answer tongue.png

Here in the Isan village (land of the burning sugar cane and rice straw) it would be the most normal thing biggrin.png

If you need a pointer to one of the uncountable illegal dumps around Pattaya/Jomtien I could give you.

You want to shred them bit by bit......it takes time but a load a day and soon job done!

Alternatively but a dustbin incinerator go to a rubbish dump and burn them to ashes......I don't think that will break the law!

I thought about that, but can't be done anywhere and don't want to put fire around. wink.png

I would need at least an empty and open oil drum to avoid paper flying away.

Finding a dump with already such drum could be an option... Construction sites may have that too.

Suspect this common rat trap could be used - would prevent blowing away and with a handle/stick you could move it around to get a good burn.

Fill a dustbin with water, chuck in some bleach or dye, throw in docs, , next day hey presto! Works every time!

Yes, it's the other frequent solution I found on the Internet.

Without a safe place to burn them, I would prefer a method with water wink.png

What do you do with the bleach paper goo in the above video? Dry it out then burn it?

Dry it and just throw away

Actually if you want to go full bore, well beyond shredding, this is an excellent unit that has been around for more than 3 decades - but would cost a bit. http://www.semshred.com/model_1012_5

place them in a open drum mixed with chinese new year paper gifts .... and just burn away like your burning for the new year !!

Just smile when anyone walks past .....

I have read many Thai Bashing posts in the past on this forum complaining about the amount of trash dumped all over the place, so now we have some members here advising people to do just the same !!

+ 1 for water/bleach. Done it. Drain the water after few days, mix it well and double check all is destroyed to dispose off via a few different trash bags on different days. MS>

Just visit the nearest office / copyshop and they will have a shredder there you can use.
