If your currently paying subscription to cyberghost vpn can you give us your feedback? Have you tested it to see if it has any leaks?

Im using the free version of zenmate vpn and it has leaks. Its completely useless and I dont know why they offer a free vpn when its not really a vpn...

thanks

Ran there free download last week for a few minutes (it took a few minutes to just load a page) and removed. If there paid is 5x faster than a snail it is still a snail. This was after much time trying to make a connection - required reconfigure network card from program to get working.

That said it may not have been a valid test as True was apparently intent on trying to make as many disconnects as possible that day.

It is easy to download and set up so why not give it a try - might work for you and free so nothing lost - if free version works OK you can then pay for the subscription version.

I tried there 3 month promotion a while back, never had a problem connecting but trying to watch live UK tv was hopeless. I use ZenMate both on Chrome and Firefox and find it works great for UK tv.

I use the free CyberGhost vpn for certain access (mainly to show I am in the UK) and it is ok but I do not try to stream anything.

For some reason when it starts up it has my "real" location as China even though the IP number is traceable to True..........

Edit - normally have to wait a few minutes for a vacant slot but never been more than 5minutes at the most. This is not supposed to happen if you have the paid version.

I have used cyberghost (free) in the past when I needed to be in N America to complete a transaction. It worked fine for that. But a recent upgrade has left me with it being unable to connect at all. Don't know what's up and too much trouble to troubleshoot, so I will probably look for an alternative next time I must be elsewhere.

I have Cyberghost on my laptop and Zenmaster on my PC, both free versions. I use 3BB in the Jomtien area. Seldom ever use either of them, but when I do, there are no problems - Cyberghost just slow to get connected.

I use for about 2.5 years.

Of course a paid version.

Free is not useful for anything video/streaming or the like. Servers are totally overcrowded.

The paid version works well.

Connects with little to no problems (sometimes a second attempt necessary).

Speed is so much dependent on the desired location/server, time of day, numbers of users.

If you just want to browse forbidden/adult content, just want to be protected etc. then Japan e.g works very well.

Singapore and Hongkong also OK.

Germany e.g. is quite slow, difficult to do streaming.

Maybe I should do some tests right now ...

I had a test period with a VPN called "Perfect Privacy". More expensive (10 Euro/month?), but lightning fast, Stunning results.

My Cyberghost subscription runs out in December.

I will rethink.

I paid for a year, and only actually got it connected maybe two times, the rest of the time it never would connect. Currently using hola.

I used hola a few times and then TOT wouldn't let me access the internet. Figured out it was because of the vpn, disabled it and everything back up. Eyes every bloody where.

Just did some random samples.

US Westcoast (San Francisco)
http://www.cnn.com/videos/tech/2015/05/15/first-warm-blooded-fish-opah-moonfish-discovered-bpu-orig.cnn
1:14 min

takes long to start (loading ad?)
but video plays 100% OK, 2 to 4 Mbit/s while loading.

The example that I selected is not too realistic, as the video can be watched from a Thai IP too.

Loaded much faster.

If someone gives me a typical example for blocked streams from USA I could try.

Germany (Hamburg)
http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/#/beitrag/video/2403516/FC-Bayern---FC-Barcelona-in-voller-L%C3%A4nge
Its an "adaptive streaming" video. Does not work satisfactory, quality nosediving.

(with some tricks you could donwload it)

UK (London)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b05whxl8/the-detectives-3-judgement-day
(yes, I am over 16 blink.png )

Not satisfactory, buffering.
Download HD version with BBC iPlayer, HD 983 MB, so la la, about 130 kByte/s.

Would work for the patient user.

Sure there are better VPNs but guess for a price.

Yes rubbish, because I was writing about Cyberghost (the topic of this thread) not ZenMate.

If you would have read the thread then you would have noticed that ZenMate leaks your Thai IP adress why the topic starter asked about an alternative (e.g. CyberGhost)

Start ZenMate and see your Thai IP:

https://diafygi.github.io/webrtc-ips/

If both tools show your VPN's IP address, then you're in the clear. However, if What Is My IP Address shows your VPN and the WebRTC test shows your normal IP address, then your browser is leaking your ISP-provided address to the world.

And compare with this ("UK"):
