jbhh
Hello, a collegue of a friend of mine has recently gone to Bangkok to change her Tourist Visa to a Non-Immigrant B Visa. She said the whole process took 45 minutes and she was out of the immigration office with a non immigrant visa. This really confuses me, as EVERYONE I know says I have to leave the country and apply for a visa at a Thai Embassy. She is a teacher I must add, but she could not tell me wether this is something special for teachers, or not. Also, I do not know if she has a Non-Immigrant B oder ED, but then again I don't see why they should make a difference between O/B/ED/EX when it comes to issueing them at BKK or not... Does someone know the exact rules and regulation behind this? I'd rather go to Bangkok and get my non-immigrant O or B, then having to fly to KL... Thanks, JB
lopburi3
The exact requirements vary by the reason but if you have a real tourist visa (60 day entry) with more than 21 days remaining there is a procedure to convert to non immigrant at Immigration for an extra cost of 2,000 baht.
