samran
I've been looking at a potential job offer in PP. Nothing is for certain yet, but it could be interesting. It is consulting based work...very niche. Anyhoo, the probability is that there may be a need to live there for a time. I'd prefer to commute between BKK and PP, but that may not be practical. Soooo.....can anyone give me some clues about the range of accomadation there (ie is there any nice suburbs suitable for families, or good apartment buildings), cost of living - I'm assuming imported stuff expat related foods would be more expensive than say BKK. Anything basically that might be of use so I can factor this into whether it is worthwhile for me to change jobs. Many thanks in advance.

Rinrada
Been about 5 years since I have been down that way and would suggest that things have changed too much for me to give any real rundown. Heard a rumour that Sharkies bar may have finally fixed their toilet. On last visit somebody was building a new shopping centre near the Central market so assume finished and would have made a big change and brought a little bit more of the west into the place ...good /bad ..MK Jai...Its always been a bit of a cowboy town ...hot and dusty but lively. At one time all you could hear in the evenings was the constant sounds of generators thumping away plus a few AKs ...and sometimes for weeks and weeks at a time but now its all appears to have settled down and a good power supply is now in place ..(thanks to the Irish Electric Company )so quite civilised... Couple of reads I would suggest for up to date info... Gordons....travelsinasia Michaels....phnom penh post...
samran
Anyone lived there as a professional? As a professional what? male gigalo. really though, who cares? Its legit and doesn't involve webmastering porn sites, teaching, or um....teaching. It will mean though I will be able to retire a lot earlier. And buy a couple of houses in the process...um sorry, summer homes.

fxm88
Anyone lived there as a professional? As a professional what? male gigalo. really though, who cares? Geez, why so secretive! For many people, the label "professional" implies either of 3 things: 1. prostitute; or 2. assassin; or 3. a job that requires you to wear a suit. And I don't remember seeing too many people wearing suits in PP...
meadish_sweetball
Reading the OP, 3 being the most logical definition. Unless you're just out on a trolling spree, you should have the brains to figure that out all by yourself.
