The 'rumor' at my school is that a Foreign teacher cannot be issued a Teacher's Licence/Work permit 'new' after his/her 60th birthday.

The belief around here is that IF the teacher is in continuous service with a school as he passes 60 years, his present work permit/teachers licence can be continued indefinately.

IF a post 60 year old teacher tries to gain employment with a 'new' school, they will be unable to get either/both Teachers Licence/ work permit.

In all my looking at advice websites/chat columns I have never heard of this.

Perhaps all 'new employee' post 60 yrs teachers work on a tourist visa/no work permit?

Thanks for any help you can give in response.
