visa run poipet

Featured Replies

I'm wanting to do a visa run at poipet and am wondering if I could have a problem. Here's my situation.

Been in Thailand since Oct 2013 first on ED visa for 15 months, then I went to Laos Savannakhet to obtain Double Tourist Visa in Dec 2014.

I activated my 2nd entry at Poipet crossing by leaving and coming back in a few hours later in Feb 2015.

This visa is now coming to an end and I am in the process of setting up a company followed by business visa and WP but I'm just waiting for my Lawyer to finalise everything which should be in next 2 weeks. Unfortunately my visa is up before then so I need to leave and come back.

I don't want to leave and get another tourist visa because I should be getting my business visa very shortly through my company set up so was thinking of going back to Poipet to exit and then return a few hours later on the visa exemption 30 days stamp.

I understand the visa exemption IN OUT is what they have been clamping down on but given I'll be leaving on a tourist visa and coming back on the visa exemption 30 days stamp a few hours later do you think I could have a problem?

The last time I used a visa exemption was a few times back in 2012. All my other entries prior to 2013 have been on tourist visas obtained in UK

Since you are not on a visa exempt entry now you can do a border crossing to get one.

If you are a UK passport holder you will get a 30 day entry since it is a G7 country. You can apply for a 30 day extension of the entry at an immigration office if you need more time.
