Visa Extension Date?

Featured Replies

I got a double entry visa on March 31st, and I was told that after 2 months I can extend it for 1 more month.

And after this, I need to go out of the country to activate the next entry for 2 more months.

Is this correct?

If so, when is the deadline for me to extend it, on May 31st (March 31st - May 31st)?

Or is it 60 days?

Thanks in advance.

A 60 day entry from a tourist visa is probably best extended after about 30 days in country . It will cost 1900 at an immigration office ,

Make SURE the second entry is made on or before the visas "enter before date" or the entry will be lost.

It's not 60 days from when you got the visa, it's 60 day from when you entered the country. And it's 60 days, not two months. And the first day you were in Thailand was DAY ONE, so you add 59 more days to that.

There's a "must use by" date printed on the visa you got at the embassy or consulate. You need to use the visa for the second entry before that date.

In addition, when you first entered the country, the immigration office put a hand stamp in your passport, with a date on it by which you must leave the country. That's the 60 days and that's the deadline for you to get the extension, but it's best if you go to immigrations and get the extension a week to 10 days before then. They will also put a stamp in your passport indicating when the 30 day extension will end. They will add the 30 onto the 60, so you don't lose anything by getting the extension a week or so before the 60 days end. Regardless of when you get the extension, you'll get the full 60 + 30 days.

Then you must leave the country and come back on your second entry no later than the date stamped by immigrations for your extension and before the actual visa you got at the embassy expires.
