Hi for all.

I am Russian citizen. Now I in Thailand with TR (touristic visa). I have 60 days + 30 days extension.

I have wife. She is Thailand citizen. We want to make all document for visa.

I choose NON-O (marriage) visa for me.

I know about best city in Laos - Savannakhet.

I think need to separate my questions.

1. "Income problem":

I have little problem with proof on income.

I can not move my money to Thailand bank. (400 000 THB).

And I don't know can or not make proof letter of monthly income.

Because I have some business in Internet without any documents.

Can I ask my embassy in Bangkok about proof letter and can they keep me without check? Same as simple form.

2. How to make visa NON-O and where is better.

I need go to Laos if need make NON-O or I can make it in Thailand ?

What document I should to show?

3. VisaRun with multi NON-O every 90 days.

With NON-O can stay in Thailand 90 days.

I can make visa-run every 90 days or I should to make extension in immigration office?

Thanks for any help.

1. You would need to check with your embassy about doing the letter. Every embassy does it a different way. Some will accept any income while others only accept pension income.

2. You can get a single entry non-o based upon marriage at any nearby embassy or consulate. Laos or Penang are the best places.

It is possible to do a change of visa status to get a non immigrant visa at Bangkok immigration. It requires financial proof and all the other documents need for an extension and will take 2 trips to there 15 days apart to get.

3. If you have the financial proof to get an extension of stay it is the best. If not the multiple entry non-o visa is your only choice.

Apply for a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa at Savanakhet Laos.

No income or savings needed.

You will then have to do a border run every 90 days.

1. Savanahet does not ask for financials.

Your embassy decides what they will accpet as proof of your income.

2. Best to go to savanakhet, but if you have proof of finacials you can convert in Thailand if you have at least 15 days left. You must appply in BKK and return after 15 days.

3. You must leave the country every 90 days, but if you cna proof your income of at least 40,000 baht a month you can apply for a 1 year extension extension of stay, so you do not need to elave the country.

Thanks for all answers.

I understand. I need to go to embassy and ask they about proof letter.

After I will go to Laos. I think better for my situation.

If you have an Embassy letter certifying an income of at least 40,000 Bht a month then you may be able to obtain an extension of stay based on marriage from your local immigration office .

I would suggest you ask your Thai wife to check with immigration about the detail of their requirements.

Okay. Now I have a proof letter with normal income. Can I make NON-O in immigration near my home or need to go in Laos?

Unless your local immigration office is the Bangkok immigration office you will need to go out for a single entry non-o visa.

You need a non immigrant visa entry to apply for the extension of stay.

Only Bangkok immigration can do a change of visa status to obtain a non immigrant visa based upon qualifying for and extension of stay based marriage. It will take 2 trips 15 days apart to get the visa/entry stamp.

Thank you for answer.

My local immigration is not the Bangkok :(

2 trips to Bangkok or 1 trip to Savanaket.

If I choose Bangkok they can make for me multi entry non-o visa? (I want multi non-o and I don't want pay for re-entry every time).

Ask your wife to discuss your wishes/requirements with immigration.

Perhaps she will the be able to explain that there are no "multi entry non-o visas" issued in Thailand .

You cannot get a multiple entry visa in Thailand itself. But you can get a multiple re-entry permit for 3,800 baht. This will allow you to come and go during the time your permisison to stay in Thailand is valid.

Thank you..

Single entry NON-O - 2000 THB + multiple re-entry 3800 THB it is better. Because I think multi re-entry I can make any time.

The conversion costs 2,00 baht and gives you a stay of 90 days. After 60 days you can apply for an extension of stay of 1 year at your local immirgaiton office for 1,900 baht.

Each extension requires its own re-entry permit if you want to leave. Depending on your travel plans it can be a single (1,000) during the 90 days from the conversion and once you have the one year extension a multiple re-entry permit for 3,800.

Now I have TR visa.

If I will convert to NON-O in last 30 days, they keep for me new 90 days or 90-30=60 days ?

If you apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage it will be for one year. You do not not convert to a non-o visa.

Ohh okay. Now I understand this system.

And after one year. What I need to do? Savannakhet make new NON-O (based on marriage) visa?

If you get a 1 year extension in Thailand at immigration with your marriage license, photos, proof of income from your embassy, then you can renew it every year. If you leave the country you need a re entry permit or the extension is canceled and you need to start over again.

If you have a multiple entry non o visa with a 1 year expiration date, then you need to go do border runs every 90 days. When the last 90 day stamp expires then you go get a new visa in Savanhaket or you can extend it for 1 year at immigration.

Tourist visas are a pain to get 1 year extensions on if you are not in BKK. It is up to you but if you have proof of income and all the other stuff for a marriage extension, then just go to Savanhaket or Penang and get the non o single entry visa. Extend it at immigration after 60 days, then get a re-entry permit if you leave the country during that year.

But I think have problem with local immigration because they told my wife: Need have 400 000 THB in Bank and give her English letter where have message about 40 000 THB income.

You need to have 400,000 baht in a bank account in Thailand OR have an income of 40,000 baht a month. Income can come from abroad, in which case you have your embassy certify your income.

If not, your only option is to apply for a multiple non-O in Savanakhet.

I have a question on getting a Non O visa in Savanakhet. I live in CM and would like to know about getting a flight instead of driving or taking a bus. As a side note nothing to do with the above question but after 90 days I intend to extend based on marriage and or child.

If you plan on getting an extension of stay based upon marriage you only need a single entry non-o. You can get it in Vientiane instead of Savannakhet.

From CM you can fly to to Udon Thani and then go from there to the bridge in Nong Kha and then cross to Vientiane. Nok Air has a fly/ride service from CM to Vientiane via Udon.

To fly to Savannakhet you could fly to Mukdahan (fly ride via Nakhon Phanom) via Bangkok and then cross to Savannakhet.

Or you could also fly direct to Savannakhet from BKK on Lao Airways.

Another option is fly Kan Air from CM to here in Ubon and then take a bus for van to Mukdahan. Or Kan Air to Kon Khen and then to Mukdahan.

Thanks ubonjoe I was hoping you would answer I have been reading your posts for a couple of years. This was however my first post.

The reason I was looking for a multiple entry visa was because I may need to go back to the States 2 or 3 times between now and January of next year.

With this in mind does it change your recommendation. Going to Vientiane is easy for me as we have family in Nong Khai.

It would depend upon your travel plans between now and January.

If one trip was within the 90 days you get a re-entry permit (1000 baht) to keep it valid and then apply for the extension if you were going to be here for a couple of months The you could a re-entry permit for your trips.

If you decide it is best for you to get the multiple entry visa I have given you some travel options to Savannakhet.

1. Where and how much is translation?

2. Where and how much is "stamp" ?

1. There are several translations services in Bangkok. and other larger cities. Cost will run between 300 to 500 baht per page.

The proof of income will more than likely will not be needed at the Amphoe.

2. The certification of the translation of the affirmation to marry is done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Most translation services can get this done for you.

Posted

Stamps means legalisation by the Thai foreign ministry, Consular Department.

The cost for that is 800 baht (express service = same day) or 400 baht for regular service (takes a few days, but for 65 baht they send it to your home by EMS). Keep this in mind when you ask a translation service to do this part for you.

Posted

Okay. Thanks for all.

I have two pages.

600-1000 baht for translation.

800-1600 baht for "stamp"

or I can pay 65 baht for send. Send is good:)

I think I want choose 600 translate + 800 stamp + 130 send = 1530 baht.

Posted

Unless it are two different documents they will only use 1 envelope, so only 65 baht for EMS.

The translation service can save you the time and money to travel to the Consular Department (near immigration). So check how much they want for doing this for you and make a decision if you want to accept their offer or not.
