Illegal I know... but ?

Featured Replies

So I am here in Thailand for the next ten months, and if I add up all the costs from visa runs, time in Malaysia, and visa purchases it will come to 20,000 baht easy.

I don't mean to offend, but visa runs are the most painful, stupid wastes of time, on top of the cost!! Why would I ever want to leave Koh Tao and travel all night by ferry then bus, stay 1/2 nights in a gross hotel, corrupt people at the border expecting to be paid off.. the list goes on

I would like to know if anyone knows someone personally, no opinions please..

if anyone has said <deleted> the visa runs and just done without. I plan to show up at the airport in 10 months time with a paid ticket back to the USA and 20,000 baht overstay fee ready in hand. My research has concluded that this should be fine (according to law), at the worst I will be banned from Thailand for 1-5 years, which I am totally ok with. I don't do drugs, I live a low key life, never had problems with Thai people or cops..

I know if I am caught before airport immigration I could be in trouble, but even then they say pay the 20,000 baht overstay and a ticket home and get lost...

Just would feel better if I knew anyone who has done this..

I know "it's wrong" but being practical, I would rather have those days of my life back and just pay the fine in the end.

Make sure to keep a very low profile and never , ever , risk a confrontation with the Police !

Being "discovered" to be on overstay WILL result in detention.

Well if you're banged up in the immigration prison you might well want the days back when you should have done your visa run.

Frankly your attitude is disgusting it is you and your actions that make it even more tedious for all of us that do things legally.

Personally I hope you get caught and punished with the full force of the law.

If you can't afford the time or the money to stay legal leave now.

......or, posting about "illegal" stuff on the internet with probably your real name and location. Jeez!

Can't see eye to eye with this, I have never had to do a visa run that I considered painful, if anything it doubles up as a sanity check with a couple days away from LoS, I never stayed longer than 60 days at a time........

Our one-post OP should have read the forum rules, particularly the one regarding posting about illegal activities.
