Empower calls for investigation into Leicester City footballers' sex tape

Bangkok:- The Empower Foundation, an organization in Thailand helping underprivileged women, has called on Thai police to investigate whether three development squads of the Leicester City Football Club had sex with three under-age Thai women.

The foundation said it appeared in the clips that the women might be under 18 years old, which would render the sex act illegal.

The three players have made headlines by taking video clips of themselves having an orgy sex with three Thai women during with they called the women with racist term.

Chanwipha Apisuk, a co-founder of the foundation, said police must probe the age of the women in the clips.

She said several women's groups in Thailand were dissatisfied that the three footballers had treated with Thai women with such insult.

However the call for age probe of the three women met with strong disagreement with many Thai Facebook users. Many said the women clearly appeared they are over 18. Many voiced concern that the issue should be put to rest or else the three women themselves would be further hurt.

A Facebook user noted that instead of taking legal actions against the three footballers, actions should be instead taken against the providers of the three women to them.

He also called on investigations against massage parlors that have been openly operating in many parts of the country.

A Facebook user claimed that the three women came from a shop on the walking street in Pattaya.

Another Facebook user, who uses the name that Saitharn Kesornthon, said the three women were simply making their living so no more probe should be made.

Maybe this was just bad editing but why report the Facebook commentator who said that massage parlours were operating openly throughout the country or words to that effect. Do they want Thailand to join the likes of Pakistan or Saudi Arabia where massage parlours cannot operate openly throughout the country? Yes, while a few massage places operate as brothels, there are many that provide massage therapy. Why shut them all?

I haven't seen the version of the tape where the women can be seen. I was walking through Soi Cowboy the other day, and some western women were exclaiming 'OMG they look 12 years old!' Pointing at some bar girls who were quite clearly several years older than 18. This is an example of how many western women seem completely unable to judge the age of a Thai girl, they can't cope with the small frame size or something, whereas I can accurately guess the age of these girls usually within a few months.

I saw the uncut version which clearly showed the girls faces and bodies.I doubt they were under 18 acted more like seasoned pros.After 15 years here I still find it very difficult to pin point age and sure there are many that share that view.

This trade goes back thousands of years, some of them end up with a good life by meeting a partner who will look after them and their family, leave them alone, if their job hurts them they can go and work in a 7/11 or in a market or building site and work very lng hours for slavery wages of 300baht a day.

I am speechless too and delighted as I did not know such a good well meaning organisation as Empower existed here. Well done to them and for standing up for their rights and the rights of the women (and guys) who do a valid and real job willingly giving a much needed service of course My full respects to Empower if that is the case.

It is clearly high time that freelance prostitution was totally legal Worldwide for both the actual providers (yes male or female) and the customers as it is obviously a highly popular trade which has been going since recorded time. Why make it illegal when all are carrying out the trade willingly and happily and anyway there is absolutely no way that you will ever stop it so why even try. Anyone who thinks they can ever stop prostitution is living in cloud cuckoo land for sure. The authorities should instead be more sensible and intelligent and just concentrate on taking out those abusing human rights like the pimps involved in this trade as that would be rewarding for all of us.
