Earlier you get there the earlier you get out, take the original birth certificate and your wife's I'd plus house book, and your passport too, best to call the place they will know more, my son born in khonkaen so we just took his birth certificate with both our names on it, my next step is to get him a passport for Australia.

Ubonjoe, it says this on the link you provided....

- One parent accompanies the child, signs the parental consent form, and submits a notarized consent letter of the non-appearing parent.

So I won't be in Thailand when my wife takes our daughter, am I reading this correctly, it's saying just my wife can apply for daughters passport, and she submits the notarized consent letter on my behalf? In other words I don't need to submit anything?

She would submit the consent letter that you have signed.

Sorry but is that consent form on the links?

I can't see it.smile.png

I have not found the consent letter posted anywhere. Your wife might be able to get a blank one at the local Amphoe or at the passport office.

Sorry Ubonjoe, just 2 more questions pleasesmile.png

It says this on the link you sent for the Thai passport...

A parental consent letter and a certified copy of the parent’s Citizenship I.D. Card of non-appearing parent.

So the consent letter(which is the the one you sent through) is fine.

But, to get that certified along with a certified copy of my citizenship ID...would my passport be accepted?...should I get them certified by the Thai Consulate here in Australia?

Thanks!smile.png

A copy of you passport photo page would be accepted. Normally certified here means signed and dated.

The consent letter would have to notarized at the embassy or one of the consulates. If you choose one of the consulates other than Sydney you should check to be sure they will notarize it..
