New passport transfer ext. To new?

Featured Replies

I just received my new passport, the old one has been made invalid. In my old passport is my last extension of stay of my ED visa, do I have to go to immigration to transfer that extension of stay( it has 5 weeks left) to the new passport?

Yes, you have. Bring copies of both passports and your departure card and a pass photo. It is a free process. You will also need a letter from your embassy regarding your new passport.

You need to go immigration to have your extension transferred. They will also do an annotation with info about the visa and the entry from it you have been extending.

You will need a letter from your embassy requesting they do the transfer.

whistling.gif I received my new U.S. passport on Friday the 5th of June.

I have the letter from the embassy asking that my visa details be transferred to my new passport which is dated 5 June

Obviously I couldn't go to immigration on Saturday the 6th as they are closed on weekends.

I will be out there Monday to do a transfer with both passports and the letter from the embassy.

I don't expect any problems.

In my case I have a tourist visa with a current 30 day extension to be transferred that expires 9 July In my old passport.

I don't have the letter and I know the Dutch embassy is not giving the letter. In my new passport is a note that the new passport is replacing passport nr. (number old passport). I hope this is enough. Thanks for the quick replies.

You don't have to go to immigration to do the transfer since you just have a tourist visa entry that has been extended.

Just use both passports when you leave the country and they will transfer your entry and permit to stay dates to the new one and stamp you out of the country in it.
