Non-O for spouse of foreign teacher in Thailand

Featured Replies

Dear All,

I have a Non-B visa. My husband is planning to apply for a Non-O, based on our marriage.

I've found a website that lists the necessary documents to apply for a Non-O visa. It says "a list of personal income tax of alien employee" is needed.

Any experiences with that? Is that necessary?

The site also says that our marriage certificate has to be certified by the embassy of our country. I know that our embassy won't certify anything because they don't have the access to check the validity of our official documents. We had the same issue with our driving licences. So I'm kind of stuck again.

If you have any information of the above, please be so kind as to share that with me.

Thanks in advance

To get the non-o visa at an embassy or consulate needed to apply for a dependent extension all that is needed is your marriage certificate and copies your your passport photo page and extension stamp.

To apply for the dependent extension of stay at immigration the same is needed. But some offices will want a letter from your employer confirming you are still working. I don't recall any offices wanting tax records but is possible some rogue office would want it. Best to check with your local office to find out their requirements.

You can do a self certification of your marriage certificate by doing a statement (aka, affidavit stat dec and etc) at your embassy.

If your marriage certificate is not in English it will have to be translated to Thai and the translation certified by the Ministry of foreign affairs.
