summary: Krugman, Stiglitz and Midas justify theft and fraud when crimes committed in Iceland. congratulations! thumbsup.gif

You left out the IMF ?huh.png

I've known that Iceland's "anti-austerity" program of the past few years, where they made bondholders rather than taxpayers take the fall for the errors of the banks, is widely considered to be an economic success story ( apart from Naamfacepalm.gif

). What is news to me is that, apparently, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has admitted it. That strikes me as very big, and here in the U.S. very under-reported, news.thumbsup.gif

the economic success story of Iceland is based on more blunt crimes than those the big multinationals have committed.

not that a give a flying fart about any of them. i am happy to pick up the crumbs which fall from their dining tables and i do that in a controlled comfortable environment instead of planting or harvesting rice.

A cannibal head-hunter was walking through the Papua New Guinea jungle and came upon a restaurant operated by a fellow cannibal head-hunter. Feeling somewhat hungry, he sat down and looked over the menu:

(i) dried Australian backpacker head for Cowrie Shells 8.- per head,

(ii) boiled Korean missionary head for CS 10.- per head,

(iii) fried Canadian explorer head for CS 12.- per head,

(iv) crumfried IMF employee head for CS 98.- per head.

The cannibal head-hunter called the waiter over and asked: "Why such a big price difference for the IMF chap's head?"

The cook came and replied: "Have you ever tried to clean one? They're so full of shit, it takes all morning to prepare it!"

Deutsche Bank CEO May Have Lied To Bundesbank About Rate Rigging, BaFin Saysbah.gif

Deutsche Bank’s senior management allegedly acted “negligently” over the fixing of Libor rates and Anshu Jain, its outgoing joint leader, may have lied to the German central bank, the country’s financial regulator concluded in a recent report that leaves Deutsche vulnerable to further action by authorities.

One of the bank’s biggest clients, Pimco, the asset management group, also lost out when one of Deutsche’s traders attempted to manipulate Isdafix, a key derivatives benchmark whose potential rigging is being investigated by US watchdogs.

Addressing staff on his first day on the job, Mr. Cryan said that the reputation of Germany’s largest lender has been “damaged by instances of serious misconduct.” Heavy fines for settling lawsuits “have strained our capital...and will likely continue to do so for some time,” he said.

“No one can promise that we will never again make a mistake ( because we are banksters and we cant help ourselves )

Deutsche Bank shelled out around €9 billion ($10.04 billion) over the past three years to settle lawsuits and regulatory investigations

today, dear children, we learn that "biting the dust" can also have a positive meaning, id est a top manager who leaves a company (who's new CEO announced austerity measures) and takes up a job with another company and an annual remuneration of several millions in cash and options plus most probably a golden handshake should he be fired before his contract expires is too called "biting the dust".

we can therefore assume that this kind of dust consists of 24 karat gold mixed with ½ carat size diamonds graded "flawless, blue-white, top wesselton."

the educational value of reading Thaivisa forum is a dorado for non-native English speakers...

...or perhaps an interesting experience watching people shooting their own foot over and over again.

Some TV members of course have nothing better to do than to divert from the subject matter.
" Biting the dust " can have a another meaning when it comes to Deutsche bank
Former Top Banker Was Involved in Investigations, Felt Abandoned by Colleagues

as most of the times you never refer to any topic again where you posted rubbish and/or were proven wrong, e.g. Whitehead changing jobs. you still have to learn (assuming you are capable to learn) that coming up with something irrelevant as a diversion does not work.
