Are there any UK banks who are prepared to send their debit and credit cards direct to overseas addresses?

I have been with Nationwide for nearly 20 years and am having many disputes with them over their cards

Some UK banks wont send cards overseas at all but more commonly they just have lists of particular countries to which they wont send cards. It seems that Thailand often appears on these lists.

Your best bet is to get a friend in the UK to forward the card to you.

I bank with Nationwide UK and am registered with them with my Thai address.

All cards are directed to my Thai address with no problems. To date, all cards have arrived safely - by normal airmail from the UK. In fact, just received a new card a few days back from their Swindon base.

I also bank with Barclays, Jersey. Also no issue with sending cards to Thailand.

I am amazed with this.

Time after time Nationwide have refused to send me new cards direct to thailand.I have offered for them to send by courier at my expense....NO !!!

They are in fact putting the onus on the customer, since they seem to be quite happy with the customers relatives or friends sending the cards by various means and to hell with the outcome.

Nationwide know I live in Thailand 10-11 months a year, they have my Thai address, indeed they sent me a new card reader direct, but,Oh No,we cant send your cards to thailand.

It probably depends also on your standing with the card issuer in question. They may be more inclined to be helpful if your total deposits/loans with them are worth a lot.
