Is anyone familiar with this term? Well, I've got 2 of them now and counting. Once you get one you can expect more each one a surprise.

I will manage these by going onto the AIP/Paleo diet. I have been a vegetarian for a number of years and this does not thrill me (never again can I have pizza, ice cream, grains of any kind, dairy, nuts, seeds,etc.etc.) Worse, I don't know how to find "grass-fed" beef, bacon with no nitrites, coconut four, etc, etc. - much less what to do with all this stuff to make it palatable for the rest of life.

My question to y'all - anybody have any experience with this?Any leads would be appreciated. Tnx

I believe that nuts and seeds area allowed on the paleo diet with the exception of grain. If you're looking for grass-fed beef, buy water buffalo at the local markets. Some beef from cattle (cows) may be from dairy farms and they're mostly raised on supplements not grass. I've seen coconut flour for sale at Rimping Nim City.

Quidnunc, thanks for your quick reply with information and a great idea! How can I describe water buffalo rather than beef in Thai?

I have an incredible book I'm reading on this mind-blowing problem of "leaky gut syndrome". Very scientific and in detail - autoimmune protocol is more restrictive than Paleo - no nut, seeds :-(

There are many autoimmune diseases ranging from HIV and certian blood cancers down to nutrient deficiency and other imbalances in the body. I would be getting some medical opinions if i were you and then weigh them all up ,Blood tests would be the very basic and then decide if you require more than a paleo diet , There is absolutly nothing wrong with a healthy diet and natural remedies but knowing the cause will certianly help.

Sorry for commenting on this old post, but I'm hoping you, gingerandtabby, might be able to help me. I'll be in Chiang Mai next month for a work conference and as I'm on AIP, I'm a bit worried about what I will do for food. Could you update on what your experience has been? I've been able to introduce only white rice (thankfully!) and egg yolks. When I was in Thailand last I struggled to get just gluten free food (has to be 100% gf since I am celiac) so I am not sure how I will do on AIP. I'm hoping to either get an AirB&B or hostel with a kitchen, but if you have any tips especially about what and where to buy groceries, if there are any meals or snacks you have found to be AIP and if you have had any success at all with accommodations at restaurants. Any tips at all would help sooth my mind! Thanks
