Hi,

I am about to return to Thailand after living back in the UK for a few years. I currently use an android smart box to stream various movies, sports etc. through kodi. This has proved hugely successful and I have as I have never had any lag or buffering (which I just can't stand) I ditched my expensive sky set up and went with this. I searched through the internet a few weeks ago, looking for an addon that would work in Thailand. Although I am thinking that the reason I don't get any sort of lagging is because my fibre connection is so good and perhaps because the servers are based here for genesis, vdub (footie), etc, so I wasn't too hopeful about it working as well in Thailand. Anyway, I found a Thai based repo add on called, uplayHD which seemed to broadcast lots of English channels that used to be on truevisions (when I was last living in LOS) such as star movies, HBO, ESPN sports, etc.. So I thought, great this will be perfect in Thailand, however, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working since I checked last week.

Just wondering, does anyone use this addon? Do you know a fix to make it work? If not, do you know of any alternatives? Also, is anyone using kodi in Thailand - do channels like genesis work without buffering? Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

Unfortunately uplayHD has been down for about a month, and doesn't look as if it is going to come back ?? Also Vdubt25 has also been down for about a week, but that may be coming back ??

The good news is that Genesis is still working fine and also the BBC iPlayer, with no or very little buffering. Another good site is Phoenix which is OK for sports sometimes.

Hi, thanks for the reply. That's a little disappointing! What would have made the addon go down? It looks as though uplayhd hasn't been maintained for a good few months but it still used to work with most channels. Are there any others that you would recommend elfpattaya? Do you subscribe to any other tv services? I a just wondering whether my android box will be sufficient and therefore I would not need truvisions, etc..

Thanks

According to the uPlayHD admin on Facebook, it's become too difficult to steal the live streams, so I think they've given up.

Latest somewhat working addons are Robin Hood 3, IPTV Stalker and Thai Lite. (Maybe vdub25t later?). Phoenix.

Best to make your own m3u files where you can and use Simple PVR client to save wasting time.

Hello Thaicowman, another good site is Cartoon HD Extra, which is found in the Xunity repository, has lots of movies and American TV series mostly in HD.

I have tried the ones recommended by Digitalbanana with varying degrees of success. The whole Kodi thing is a little bit hit or miss, works one day and not the next.

The other things I have got are CTH for the English football, where I paid in advance for 2years and got 1 year free, so 1 year to go and I wont be renewing. Not had a problem but the only other thing I watch on CTH is Sky news.

I also have True Sport Family HD, which I got for the Rugby (Six Nations), very good picture but a little expensive. I'm watching the Southern Hemisphere stuff at the moment and waiting to see if they are showing the Rugby World Cup, after which I shall dump it.

The are plenty of alternatives out there now, such as ilikehd and 365sports and by the end of the year I imagine there will be more, so your Android box should be good enough.

A little off topic, does anybody know who is showing the Rugby World Cup in Thailand, not seen any adverts yet and only about 3 months away.

Looks like all the games are on ITV so worst case FilmOn. Maybe geoblocked though, so DotVPN or something might be required.

I use Genesis almost exclusively for TV shows and movies. Of course TV is a day later and movie copies are digital once the DVDs come out. 1channel, navi X all work fine. Bottom line you can use Kodi just fine in Thailand. Just remember live TV is subject to buffering because of inadequate internet speeds.

i find genesis works fine, but struggle with 1 channel, icefilms etc. mine is a fresh install of the tvmc - tv addons version of kodi, running on a minix neo a8h.

genesis is the only consitent one, but only with gvcenter sources, icefilms sources etc, on genesis dont seem to work.

a little disappointed given a 30 mb connection. im now experimenting with vpn to see if that is an improvement.
