Below is a somewhat stylised picture of a bus.

All you have to do is define which way it is driving and your reasoning.

Kids will get it instantly (maybe).

Is it driving on the left or right?

That is the question. Which do you think? And why?

There is no one correct answer, which is why you must include your reasoning.

I won't spoil it for others, but if this is a bus in Thailand it would be driving to the right.

It is driving forwards.

They spend more time going forwards than in reverse, there is nothing to indicate it is going backwards, so abductive reasoning would suggest forwards.

And I like your reasoning :)

Its going right because my eyes focus left to right and creats the feeling of movement to the right. Our eyes are trained to view left to right .

A good answer, interesting reasoning.

Anyone think it's going to the left?

"define which way it is driving" ...Erratically and without due care and attention.

"Reasoning"... It's a Thai bus.

Thank you, my keyboard is now full of Beer Chang smile.png

It probably also has no brakes.

It is driving towards the viewer. It has a three-piece windshield because it is very wide.

The circles at the bottom which like like tires are in fact jet engines, as this is a bus of the future.

In Europe it would be driving towards the left of the picture.

In England towards the right

In Thailand, Buddha knows.

Well, I almost gave up on it, but then actually I think a came up with an answer that would make sense ;)....Here we go:

Since it is a bus, it must pick up passenger. However, there are no doors visible, which tells me the entrance to the bus is on the other side. This means that the bus driver is sitting on the side that is visible to us. So, if he were to be driving left and stopping to let passengers on and off the bus they would be in oncoming traffic. If the bus drives right, he would be letting passenger in and out of the bus from the sidewalk.

Conclusion:

Thailand / England / Australia etc: Driving to the right

Rest of the world: Driving to the left

Apparently "can't see the door" is the number one reason given by children, direction is of course dependent upon the country the kids come from smile.png

And it means no thought given to the possibility of the door being on the rear of the bus.

Kids eh!

Here's another one that i saw recently. Supposedly used on an entrance exam for a Chinese kindergarten. Kids usually get the right answer within 20 seconds.

View from above a parking lot. The X is a car obscuring the parking space number. What is the number under the X.

| 16 | 06 | 68 | 88 | X | 98 |

And Google says: L8 or 87 rotated 180 degrees.
