Well i've bought my ticket and going home to get a one year mult-entry visa...I'am married but don't hold 450,000 baht here in the LOS. have other things to do back there anyway...BUT what is still so stupid is that i will still do the border run every 3 months and give 500 baht to the burmese! COME ON YOU THAI'S DON'T YOU WANT MY MONEY! SURELY ITS BETTER FOR THAILAND TO HAVE A SLICE OF THE CAKE AND TAKE MY 500 BHT CHECK ME ON THERE COMPUTER AND SAY OK YOU'RE STILL A GOOD GUY SEE YOU IN 3 MORE MONTHS!!! What a waste of potential revenue they are missing best to leave the border runners alone and just collect the 500 baht every month surely? Then use the money to build schools , hospitals etc........OK i know the money may go somewhere else but i still think as a farang! You know fair is fair for everyone.....

If they know that farangs are working without a visa then stop them...In pattaya recently i saw many russian women working with the police outside drinking>I SUPPOSE THEY COULD'T SEE THEM !

My point is that we are all being grouped togerther as guilty ie working.....I feel sorry for people who have come here love it as i do and have been asked to teach yes asked not looked for a job! Then after many a happy a time are being asked to go....THERE ARE MANY A GOOD ENGLISH TEACHER WHO CAN TEACH WELL BUT HAS BNO DEGREE...It does'nt need a degree to teach english . AFTER ALL ITS THAIS THAT WANT TO SPEAK ENGLISH> Nobdy outside thailand wants to speak thai do they! OH by the way i do not teach or work here...........

Dont forget that you dont actually need any dosh for the Multi-Non-imi "O" visa..its only when you apply for the extension...after 12 months ....Yea...

Sorry ....apart from that is ..the actual cost of the "chop"itself ,a bus ticket and a very nice coffee in the little French place just round the corner from Saf .Ken underground Station (assume in Smoke)

I know where you're coming from mate, but they're not asking you to leave permanently, they're asking you to get the right visa. They're also probably thinking that many farangs on 30-day on arrival stamps are the down and out unwashed miscreant-type that make the place look somewhat tatty, as well as those that are dodging the taxman. I feel for those who can't make the cut and have lives here, but from their point of view, they have to draw the line somewhere.

What narks me is that if one of their countrymen emigrates to the West and gets wed', they get a passport, easy business opportunities, land and houses in their name if they want it etc etc, and it's not being reciprocated... they want their cake and to eat it. But that's the way it is and we have to put up with it.

AGREE ENTIRELY!!! Bums there are,loud mouth ignorant types as well....I think the biggest problem will be for those on the border run who have'nt got the news yet..Also the local interpretation by the border control...all said and doneI WILL BE BACK!!!!! CAN'T EVER SEE MYSELF BACK IN BLIGHTY AGAIN FOR GOOD..3 weeks max.....

OH YES 5 YEARS AGO NEARLY I APPLIED FOR 1 YEAR MARRIAGE VISA IN LONDON BUT WAS ONLY GIVEN 3 MONTHS!! MY ignorance should have asked for a i year multi...........

Basically, the Thais have done what most Brits say the Britsh Government should have done years ago, to stop scroungers, undesirables and dodgy immigrants entering THEIR country. And of course it's these very people who are whinging now. Isn't life strange?
