SECOND YEAR ON A NON IMM. O-A VISA

Featured Replies

If you have a one year multiple entry NON IMMIGRANT O-A visa that will

expire October 25 th 2015..
AND If for example you leave Thailand on October 20 th 2015 and re-enter Thailand on
October 24 th 2015.. you would get another one year visa running until
October 23 rd 2016..
Is this correct ??
During that SECOND year October 24 th 2015 to October 23 rd 2016 are you allowed
to exit Thailand ? Can you get a multiple entry visa ?? OR is it that if you
leave Thailand during that period you visa will be void ????
Thanks all..

As long as you do an entry on your visa on or before the enter before date on your visa you will get a new one year permit to stay.

After the enter before date you will need to get a re-entry permit to keep that last entry valid if you want to travel. A single re-entry permit costs 1000 baht and a multiple 3800 baht. You can apply for it at an immigration office or at either airport in Bangkok on departure from the country 24 hours a day.

The valid visa is what allows you to exit and return to Thailand during the first year.

After the first year, once the use-by date printed on the visa has passed, you have only a permission to stay IN THAILAND as shown by the last immigrations stamp you got entering the country using the visa.

With only the permission to stay stamp valid during the second year, you need a re-entry permit to be able to exit Thailand and return again while preserving your permission to stay.
