Surprised ? They have deck chairs and parasols on the beach.

Eating & drinking is allowed on the beach, supply is relatively cheap. And now, as they have an airport, easy to reach...

Not talking about a Casino, Victory Hill, no Tuk Tuk hassle, 50 US cents for a draft beer...

Questions ?

Yes but they have beggars and touts everywhere also...

True, but they go away when asked. The police will also hassle, but will back off for a dollar. I just returned from Se'ville June 12. Hotels, meals, drinks and other delicacies are cheaper. The previous B15 quote on beer may be a little too cheap, I did find Anchor draught at B20 in local spots, but it is B30 in all bars, even girlie bars. Imported spirits are B60-B100 everywhere. Spanish and Chilean red and white wines are B30 a glass and can be bought in local stores for B120-B260 a bottle. In one Aussie-run restaurant, I had a lovely dry Chilean red for B150 a bottle and a 500g Aussie prime rib eye steak with potatoes, veggies and French bread for B400--the steak and two bottles of wine cost me B700. I stayed pool-side in a nice clean a/c private bath large hotel room for B475. One night, I closed a bar on Pub Street. The farang leasee was leaving, but the Cambo owner would let it for B9k/mo, plus another, B3k for the apartment upstairs. So, lads, if you want to run a bar, try Se'ville; for less than $400/mo you can have a place to live and run a bar--from what I was told, no hassles with visas or work permits--just pay the not so expensive bill--farangs stood behind their bars and served. Of course, the infrastructure sucks, but it still has a bit of paradise on a budget..

Is there something intelligible inside the message?

I gather you dislike what i saw then and you see now. Care to comment on what that might be?

What is the nicest hotel or bungalow on the beach at Sianookville, any idea ?

Thanks.

I saw several opulent looking places. No idea which is the nicest, but there is one white marble monstrousity with its own casino and numerous Bentleys parked outside--maybe one of the nicest.
