June 24, 201510 yr Thai AirAsia: not affected by ICAO red flag on ThailandBANGKOK, 24 June 2015 (NNT) - Thai AirAsia said its business has been performing well, despite Thailand receiving a red flag from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).Thai AirAsia CEO Tassapon Bijleveld claimed the carrier has not been affected by the ICAO’s decision to give Thailand a red flag on June 18 for failing to address aviation safety concerns. However, the red flag has resulted in Thai AirAsia deciding to close one route to Sapporo, Japan. The CEO claimed it would be difficult to promote Bangkok-Sapporo flights, as the carrier is required to renew its flying permits every month.Thai AirAsia will consider reopening the route once the ICAO revokes the red flag. Mr. Tassopon said the biggest market segment for Thai AirAsia remains within ASEAN region and China. He added that Thai AirAsia has recently been given approval to launch three more routes. However, it will initially add flights to only two of them.-- NNT 2015-06-24
June 24, 201510 yr So a non issue then, following an in depth analysis of travel patterns, future trends etc, in the subsequent 6 days since the Red Flag was applied on the 19th of June. <deleted>!
June 24, 201510 yr Has anybody else read the reports and put 2 and 2 together. Big shock if you did. This red flagging aplies to the airports as well as aircraft. Soon no airlines will be able to land nor take off from here, due to incompetant staff. Serious ramifications all round.
June 24, 201510 yr Well now we find the airports allow hiso people to bypass security. Also carry loaded weapons, what next?
