Tourist visa extension with family.

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

I'm currently in Thailand on a tourist visa, visiting my girlfriend and son. I am due to get my extension on Friday. I have been told that if I bring my son's birth certificate and girlfriends tabien ban, I can get a 60 day extension as opposed to a 30 day one.

If this is possible, do they have to accompany me or would these 2 documents be enough?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

You can get a 60 day extension to visit your son.

It would be preferable if can take your son and his mother.

That's my problem. It doesn't look like she will be able to come with me.

If I have signed copies and the real documents with me, it shouldn't be too much of a problem should it?

These are the official requirements.
2.24 In the case of visiting a spouse
or children who are of Thai Nationality
Each permission shall be granted
for no more than 60 days.
1. Application form
2. Copy of applicant’s passport
3. Copy of household registration certificate
4. Copy of national ID card of the person having Thai nationality
5. Copy of a marriage certificate or copy of a birth certificate

As your Son is only 10 months old he wont have an ID Card yet.

Give it a go and see what they say.

Thanks for all the info. I'll give it a go on Friday and it should be fine.

Just spent 5 minutes wondering how you know my son is 10 months old and I assume you read my British passport topic from 3 months ago??? ;-)
