Strangebrew Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Thank god she didn' t get killed. But it seems phone smarter than she is.
bamnutsak Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Later seen buying lottery tickets. Did anyone get the lucky number of the train?
trogers Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 The next challenge - texting while crossing the Bangna highway...
Crossy Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Perhaps this will prompt BTS to re-think their decision not to install Platform Screen Doors at all stations.
kannot Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 ll she needed was the " dont get run over by a train as your'e obsessed with your phone" app and all would have been ok. Probably worldwide but I get sick of folks everywhere heads buried in phones and its 99% drivel ost of the time, out at a restaurant "head in phone" whole families, not a word spoken between them
Bob12345 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 It is sad to see how people walk around here with their smartphone. No eye for anything happening around them and just staring at that little screen in their hand, combined with walking very slow and hindering other people. Maybe people should be educated a bit on how to behave with their phones: step to the side (to not block anyone), stop walking (to be able to concentrate on your phone), and then start texting. (same for all countries by the way, this is not a Thai problem)
bill014 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Crossy think you misunderstand the problem. Irrelevant WHAT the BTS do, <deleted> with heads in phones will not see them anyway!!!
ALLSEEINGEYE Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 A texting student? Is that a new subject they are offering at Thai universities? Maybe they created this as it is likely the only subject they won'y have to cheat at. lol
Sviss Geez Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Crossy think you misunderstand the problem. Irrelevant WHAT the BTS do, <deleted> with heads in phones will not see them anyway!!! It's you that doesn't understand, regardless of whether those using their phones see the barriers or not, those barriers will prevent them from falling on to the track
rak sa_ngop Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 It amazes me that so many Thai women walk down the BTS steps in their high heel shoes, texting or playing with their smart phones at the same time. It seems such a no-brainer to me!
asdecas Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Throwing accusations of "idiot", "stupid" and such is all very well, but brief observation of Joe and Jane Public at large at any time confirms that absolutely EVERYBODY leaves their brain at home sometimes, at least for some substantial part of the day. There are no exceptions, we are all guilty of doing so to some extent.
Norcan Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 It seems such a no-brainer to me! Therein lies the answer...
Yunla Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I don't want my last words in this life to be a Tweet. It actually gives me nightmares, and makes me travel everywhere with my mobile switched off and hidden at the bottom of my bag.
quandow Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Natural selection at work. This girl should not breed.
little mary sunshine Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Sad, but no sympathy here. You can't walk in the Malls, on the Street or even be in a restaurant without being bumped, run off The sidewalk or have your meal distracted by these rude young People. "Sign of the Times" NO STUPID, RUDE,INCONSIDERATE BEHAVIORS

It's you that doesn't understand, regardless of whether those using their phones see the barriers or not, those barriers will prevent them from falling on to the track This is one of those postings that makes me scratch my head and wonder if the people who post on Thai Visa have ever been to Thailand ... We are discussing the BTS Skytrain System. Unless a person is able to jump over, or break through thick plexiglass barriers, that only open when a train door in front of them are open ... In short, it is pretty much impossible to accidentally fall onto the tracks at stations that have them. May i ask, since you seem to view yourself as an expert ... Yes or No ... Have you ever been to Siam Station, BTS? Or any of the other stations with the computerized plexiglass protective barriers? If not, and you have not got clue one what you are talking about, why are you babbling about it?
charmonman Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I'm surprised this isn't a daily occurrence given the sheer numbers of (typically) young people fixated on their phones at all times, completely unaware of their surroundings or of other people right behind or in front of them. I'm very nostalgic for the days when people actually paid attention to the real world around them, but I suppose we are cursed with this situation for the forseeable future.
canarysun Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 imagine what kind of life you would have if you had a relationship with a lady who constantly gazes at her mobile phone....... x

Accepting that high-tech-addicted junkies young or not threatening your comfort (safety) zone being excused for mind absence all the time ? They're stressed and burned out what a pity and too much to handle it, no?

Total agreement with "I'm very nostalgic for the days when people actually paid attention to the real world around them" How about we partner up a tee shirt, "Real Life! Ain't an app for that!"
Guest Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 imagine what kind of life you would have if you had a relationship with a lady who constantly gazes at her mobile phone....... x Dude, iI know right? You see young couples in a restaurant taking pictures and sending them to .... wait for it ... each other! Don't know how these guys get any. Maybe they retire to separate beds and cyber sex each other? My wife got into her phone at dinner once. The next night she said, " do you want to go out for dinner?" "Go with your phone, I will eat later." She never did that again.
little mary sunshine Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 On the BTS Platform, trains every 5 min.....PAY ATTENTION I disagree, just stupid. Hope others learn!!

There are no exceptions, we are all guilty of doing so to some extent. Calling this dolt an 'idiot' etc doesn't make them less of one. 'All being guilty' of leaving our brains at home has nothing much to do with the topic in question - an idiot texting rather than looking where they are going.
Ceruhe Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 "Go with your phone, I will eat later."She never did that again. Brilliantly done.
Halion Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 They say a country's future is reflected by it's youth !!
Miami Bob Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 There should be a daily world report entitled "zombie news" to cover all the mishaps involving people walking around staring into their little matrix box.
Maggusoil Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 ll she needed was the " dont get run over by a train as your'e obsessed with your phone" app and all would have been ok.
