June 26, 201511 yr Hi! Here's my story, I hope you could help me. I resigned from my job at a school last June 1, still got the non - b visa on my passport - extended until august. My work permit is still with me expiring also on august. My former school gave me the privilege of cancelling the work permit by myself. I got a new job in a hospital, they're gonna be providing me visa and permit! Yay! Though I am clueless of what they are planning as they don't want me leaving the country and do the permit and visa cancellation and extension all on the same day in Thailand.. But, I am very, very doubtful that it's possible. Anybody here passed by this process? Any help is highly appreciated! thanks in advance!
June 26, 201511 yr I've found it's very tricky to change jobs in TH without leaving the country. But, if both of your employers are cooperating, then it can be done. Are you going to be teaching at that hospital? If so, you'll want to find out if you're going to need a teacher's license from the Ministry of Education. B/c if that doesn't come through in time, then you're gonna have to leave the country and come back. But you've got plenty of time to work things out. Just make sure the hospital understands if this doesn't get done within the set amount of time that you need to leave the country. This detail often times alludes the staff in charge of the work permit.
