Buy a 3.2 Mazda BT50 - pretty much what the Ford Rangers offers for less money with nicer dash (IMHO), reasonable service at the dealership and a smiley face at the front too. The 5 cylinder makes a nice noise when you give it the beanz too.

You are right it's not owned by Ford, Ford are a shareholder of Mazda. For most of the models available in Thailand both companies use shared design and technology. They also share the same assembly plant over here. Although the Ranger/BT50, Focus/3 look much the same in body design the similarity ends there.
