Hi, my partner and i are going to go to Laos from Thailand so that we can get another 30 day visa free stay in Thailand on our return. I see this only applies for AIR travel but my question is do you have to leave AND re enter by air or just re enter Thailand by air?

The reason I ask is because the return flights to Laos are really expensive so we may leave Thailand by land and re enter by air. Thanks.

If you are from the UK you will get a 30 day visa exempt entry at a border crossing (G7 country rule). No need to fly in.

You can also now get a 30 day extension of your 30 day entry at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht.

UK citizens get 30 days visa exempt entry by air AND by land.
