Hi,

I have read a number of posts about people finding tomatillos growing wild in Thailand. Usually I get seeds from the States and grow them here in Chiang Mai. But while they do grow and we get fruit, after a couple of months growth they tend to get diseased and die off. Some of the pictures of wild tomatillos people have posted to TV look very healthy. I am wondering of it might not be worth getting some seeds from a wild plant as they must have built up some resistance to the various, and numerous, pathogens encountered here.

Has anyone seen any growing wild in or near Chiang Mai, or even Chiang Rai as I have to go there fairly regularly. Failing that, later this month I have to drive from Chiang Mai to Korat. Could someone point me in the right direction to where I might find some tomatillo growing wild?

Cheers!
