Hi, I have a work pemit tied to a single entry non immigrant visa O, obtained about a month ago

1) Can I extend this visa based upon a work contract which pays me more than 40K a month, or do I need to still show 400k in the bank?

2) For the 400k, can it be the equivalent in USD?

Thanks again for your advice!

Based on work you would probably need a salary of over 50K a month.

Plus documents from your company.

You can apply based on having a Thai wife.

40K monthly salary or 400K in the bank.

1. You can apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage and use your income from working to meet the 40k baht income requirement. But the problem might be that immigration will want to see 2 months of tax payments to prove the income. If this was a problem you could apply for a 60 day extension.

2> The 400k baht has to be in a Thai bank. Some immigration offices would accept the equivalent in USD in a foreign currency account at a Thai bank.

.If you applied for an extension based upon working the minimum salary would be 50k baht if you are from a western country.
