VISA RUN HAT LEK

Recommended Posts

Hello

I have an OA visa muti entry issued October 9th 2014 by thai consulate in Paris.. and as I entered only in March, I now have a stamp till March 4th 2016

If I go out before October 9th 2015, I will get according to infos given one more year OA visa witjout making an extension in Pattaya immigration..

I am planning to go to Trat and do a visa run end of september..

. how long does it take by car to reach Trat and mainly Hat Lek ??

. When we are there, as we are a couple with a small dog we plan that one would stay in the car and the other one would walk through the border and come back and the other one make the same afterwards (to avoid crossing the border with the dog as they may ask tons of papers for this).. Is this possible ??

. As we enter Cambodia even for 5 minutes, do we need a visa and do we need to make it before and where and how much does that cost or can we do it at the border ??

. As we have a multi entry visa I imagine we don't have to go to immigration here before going, to ask permission ??

. how much will they charge us reentering Thailand and will it be multi entry or single entry visa ?

. Last : is H

You will not get a new OA visa when your enter the country you will get a new one year permit to stay. After the enter before date on your visa you will have to get a re-entry permit to keep that one year entry valid if you want to travel. You can get the re-entry permit at an immigration office. A single re-entry permit costs 1000 baht and a multiple costs 3800 baht.

There will be no fees for Thai immigration when you enter the country.

There would be no problem for you to do your entries at different times.

You would need to get a visa on arrival to enter Cambodia that costs $30. At Hat Lek you can also use an e-visa. See: https://www.evisa.gov.kh

Not sure about the distance or travel time to Hat Lek.

The Ban Laem crossing is closer to Pattaya than Hat Lek.

Thank you so much for info.. Do you mean that if my first visa was issued on october 9th 2014 and I go out end of september, I have to go to Jomtien immigration as soon as I come back to get the re entry permit done before October 9th ?? It means if I understand well that if I don't do that before october 9th and if I go out of the country before renewing my visa, I will re enter Thailand on visa exemption 30 days ??

In fact we choosed this border as we will at the same time spend 2 days on the beach in Trat, joining useful to pleasure..

Pls confirm if I get this so called "permit to stay" still what I will do one year later will be a OA visa extention without having to take the full process from beginning.. ?

Have a nice week

You can get the re-entry permits at any time. You only need to get if you are going to make a trip out of the country. If you make an entry after the enter before date (8ht of Oct ?) on your visa without a re-entry permit you would be stamped in for 30 days.

When you enter in September you will given a permitted to stay stamp dated one year from the date you entered the country you will then need to do the one year extension of stay (visas are not extended) by that date.

Thank you.. So I repeat

. visa issued in Paris Oct 9th 2014

. entered Thailand March 4th 2015 .. valid till march 4th 2016

. go out on september 30th 2015 to Cambodia and back same day

. I get extension of stay till September 29th 2016 (or so ever, will check the stamp)

. No need to rush to immigration before oct 9th 2015, can ask for re entry permit going to immigration when I want to go out between september 30th 2015 and september 29 th 2016, asking for single or muti re entry permit, paying 1000 or 3800 bahts if I want multi entry..

I got it now I think

Thank you very much

Have a nice week

  • 5 months later...

Domdom or anybody could answer answwer a question

Hat Lek border attempting to take my car into Cambodia & I know depending on the mood of the border . it may be possible although not 100% legal I could face tea money on route...

If its a failure has anybody seen a car park inside no mans land where I can leave my car & travel to PP. Poipet has casino and paid car parks I have used in the past when needed, are there similar at Hat Lek. Or even the other southern border crossing Phsar Prum.
