I have a 60day, double entry tourist visa that expires on October 1st. I would go on a border run and get it extended, but I have plans to visit someone in Hong Kong on October 12, and with the new laws coming into effect I do not want any more entries then I have to have. Does anyone have any expirience with visa extensions? I know the costs, 1900 baht (!!) but I am not sure what the process entails. Any advice? Or would it be easier to just go on a border run before Oct 1 and use up my second entry?

Thanks for your help :o

To keep your visa (if you left the country before the 1st and then wanted to go to HK) I believe you would need a re-entry permit. Not sure, however, if they issue these for tourist visas.

You'll get better answers in the Visas section so I am moving the topic there.

A 60 day tourist visa entry can routinely be extended for 30 days with a visit to an immigration office and payment of 1,900 baht (photo and passport copies will be required). You fill out a TM.7 there or you can download. Very easy.
