Casa Pascal Breakfast Buffet

Featured Replies

Went to the breakfast buffet Friday morning. It's 200 baht per person for all you can eat. I've been in the business - food quality is good! Dinning room is nice for a breakfast. They will make you your eggs to order along with sausage and bacon. There's an ok assortment of everything else including several different fresh baked breads and Apricot jam!! Bring an appetite. We went too early and I filled up fast. Go late morning and pig - out and get your moneys worth. It's a good deal!! From 8am untill 2 pm every day....

Are you keeping the town/location a secret?

No, smart mouth! Thought I put that in the Pattaya forum.

Looks like you put it in the WESTERN FOOD IN THAILAND section.

Maybe ask a Mod. to move it for you to the Pattaya section and maybe an apology is in order to Seligne2 or edit your reply.

Yes, it's very popular.

So popular it can be hard to get a table.

You can also order pancakes, waffles, and espresso / caps, no extra charge.

The actual price is 210 plus 7 percent tax and also you should tip. Even though it's a buffet, the staff there is great.

Telling people to tip, that's rich, we aren't all over paying Americans.

It's a classy place. The service is great in a city where the service is usually awful.

Do what you want.

At 210 + 7 % i think your and mine definition of what classy is, is somewhat different LOL, visiting a real classy joint one wouldnt be too concerned about the price and god forbid it would be a buffet LOL

But maybe the fact they are not serving doughnuts gives the place its class ?

But then again there are those who believe a thb 99 breakfast is classy

Everyone to their own i guess, one can see the class of the clientel when the op suggests one pigs out when visiting said establishment

Yes jing, if the OP's posts, specifically his last one are any indicator of the class of the people who use of the place, think i will give it a miss, imagine sitting next to that foul mouth baboon trying to eat a classy dinner :(

Whatever dude. What's special to me about their brekkie is their Swiss rossti. Goes so well with runny eggs.

Your review was good and compelling. That's why I wanted to know where it is. Forgive me for being pedantic.

This all sounds familiar...

it is on 2nd road just opposite the Marriott. very easy to spot.

BTW: googlemaps is your friend....

can second what has been said about the place - good value for money and decent food quality.

In the evening, this really becomes a classy and EXPENSIVE dining place, so this is not your usual LEK HOTEL or APEX HOTEL breakfast joint....

I'm in Chiang Mai, so mai bpen rai

An alternative on a similar level is the Royal Suite on Soi Buakaow towards the northern end. 190 baht inc. The breakfast closes at 11am. Again excellent service, good food. Speciality is the omelettes. Eggs any way and bacon cooked to order. Some very nice buffet dishes to choose from, coffee excellent.

To say Buffet and then quality to me is wrong, buffet and value for money I can see. It's a personal preference but I like MY food prepared for me and not thrown out for hours on end to be pawed over by all and sundry. I appreciate that to certain nationalities buffets are considered as fine dining but not for me thanks.

How busy does it get in the morning? I remember once reading people stopped going because the food was being eaten too quickly and you had to wait quite a long time for it to be replenished.

Indeed, Guvnor.

To me it isn't QUAL-A-TEE unless I have my very own 5 star Michelin chef cook for me and me alone in my own germ free solid gold kitchen ... and then take care of the cleanup when the food comes out the other end.

Quality is so subjective; it's hard to understand what all the fuss is about. A few interesting quotes about quality:

“How good something is should never be determined by its cost, designer, origin, or its perceived value by others.”
Ashly Lorenzan

“There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey.”
John Ruskin

“For just over my price range, I can get something way under my quality expectation level...”

It depends on what you expect, or better which country you come from..

A friend of of mine raved about Casa Pascals breakfast, about two years ago..

But I was more or less disappointed.

Coming from Germany, I expected at least a little bit cheese and a small selection of decent sausage, like Salami, ham or similar.

Not forget eatable bread, apart from this inedible "Toast bread"

But mainly fried eggs, oily bacon, these small "sausages" and off course some other (unhealthy) fried food.

But far away from that, what German people would call "Breakfast"

Seems CP (a SWISS restaurant) caters mainly for the US/UK guys?

It might have change recently(?), but until somebody can confirm this, I definitely won't come back.

PS: the coffee was good! tongue.png

Oh, for a good German breakfast! Why does no one do it in Thailand?

So could someone say if its still very busy? Last time I went there I was queing for food and had to wati a long time before some items were replenished tbh. Wouldn't want to go there if its still like that.

We went around 9am and there was only a few people. We left at about 10:45 and it was getting quite busy and I remember thinking you wouldn't want to come after 11. .... Some other answers/replies: there were many different FRESH baked breads and some cured meats...You can have eggs made to order anyway you like 'em. Bacon was high quality but you need to tell them how well you like it cooked. ... "pig-out" is a youthful way of saying to "eat a lot." It doesn't describe a meal at your mom's house with your in - bred family!!! ( That is for the pea - brain who complained! 555) .... The breakfast is a good deal for 200 baht! Coffee was good. Food good. Service attentive. Table was clean with nice plates, place settings, table cloth, etc. Music playing in the back ground and a bit older crowd of folks from 40 up with ONE table with little kids that the parents kept fairly quiet. Thank you, and have a nice day...

next is "it's not that classy but acceptable food and excellent friendly service"

advice: if you ever order their famous big schnitzel (who's taste and preparation is excellent) don't even think of ordering it with potato salad which normally goes with a schnitzel in continental Europe.

but the size of the schnitzel, respectively the part you are not able to finish will make your dogs (if any) very happy.

my favourites there are the Spanish and Greek platters which are actually hors-d'oeuvres. most of the times very good and sometimes sick.gif

moneywise their set menue provides the best value. but i hate set menues even with some choice of variation.
