September 19, 200619 yr I am planning to retire to thailand soon and am confused by the many sites that offer advice. Could anyone assist me with these queries: 1 If I enter with a retirement visa (? O-A), can I leave and re-enter the country during its validity (I seem to remember reading somewhere that I would not be allowed to leave/re-enter during the year). 2. Would my wife (UK) need to have her own retirement visa with all its requiurements (cash deposits/income etc) 3. Is it possible to change such a visa whilst in Thailand if I decide to work ? Many Thanks
September 19, 200619 yr 1. If the O-A is multi entry you will receive a one more year permitted to stay stamp on each entry for the one year validity of the visa. If not you obtain a re entry permit prior to travel. In either case you are free to travel. 2. Your wife can obtain a non immigrant O visa/extension on the basis of your retirement visa and only one deposit is required. 3. The stay could be changed to allow work - and from a receipt report it might not have to be changed (but that is still an unknown).
