Complete Documentation to Sign/Prepare if Selling Bike via 3rd Party

Recommended Posts

If I had to sell my motorbike while outside Thailand via a friend, what documentation should I prepare in advance/sign and are there any official documents I need to get from Govt. office ? I'm an expat currently on education visa in rented accommodation if that is relevant.

Bike shops carry 2 papers in Thai language you will need both of these Signed..Book Signed--Residency certificate and enough Visa time remaining usually 30 days for the new owner to change the name

seller and buyer must have current stamps, so you would have to copy you passports current 'admitted until' page and give it to him before you left. In phuket there is no 30 day limit, I have sold before with just a few days left, not sure about other offices.
