No idea about fishing in pattaya but 300bht for a pond full of striped catfish which are considered a pest by most anglers sounds like fun NOT!

Any fish can be fun to catch if that's what you're targeting, and go with appropriate gear. (Ever watched a gudgeon match?)

$9 for a day of fishing where you may actually catch something (and perhaps something big) would be a dream location "back home".

And if you live or holiday in the neighborhood, so much the better. Mind you, I won't be driving down from BKK for a day of $9 fishing- but if I'm on a weekend in Jomtien- sure..

Agree, i'm there for a couple of days in August so thought i would check out 1 of the ponds around Pattaya. Not bother about catching a monster just a nice days fishing, not too crowded, couple of beers.
