First retirement visa

Featured Replies

Good morning all smile.png

I have very precise questions about my fist retirement visa application:

1 - I will go to my home country embassy here in Bangkok to ask for an attestation of revenue from my country. How old can this attestation be at maximum? If the attestation of revenue is 3 months old, will the immigration service still accept it?

2 - I will transform in Bangkok my tourist visa in Non O visa. I understood i need to do it prior to the last 15 days of my tourist 60 days visa or its extension ends. What i would like to know is: as i will use a mix of my french income and a deposit on a saving account here, the total of both being superior to 800,000 THB, how long the money should be on the saving account before i go for the change of visa from Tourist to non O? Can it be just the week before or should it already be on the account 3 months before (i am talking about the transformation of the tourist visa in non O only).

3 - Do i need to be already 50 to go and ask immigration for the transformation of tourist in non O or if i will have 50 in one month or so could it work?

4- After having the non O, i will need to go for an extension of stay for retirement and prove again a total of more than 800,000 Between my home country revenue and my thai saving account. How long the money on the thai saving account will then need to have seasoned on my saving account before i can ask for the 1 year extension? 3 months or 2 months?

5 - When i will have transformed my 60 days tourist visa in non O, the non O visa will allow me to stay how long additional in thailand from the date of its its deliverance? 2 months? 3 months? Can i directly ask for an extension for retirement of one year or do i need to come back to ask for this 1 year extension?

6- Last question. If i would decide to go to a thai embassy in a nearby country to issue a Non O visa, should i be already 50 or can it be for exemple one month before i will turn 50?

Thanks a lot for your help on those very particular questions,

Have a nice day.

1. Immigration will accept one that is up to 6 months old.

2. It only has to be in the bank on the date you apply for the change (no 60 days needed).

3. You must be 50 on the date you apply.

4. Same as 2 if you are applying in Bangkok. One or 2 offices would want it there for 60 days.

5. The non immigrant visa entry you will get when you apply for the will be for 90 days. You can then apply for an extension of stay during the last 45 days of that entry.

6. Same as 3.
