True Internet warns customers of phishing website

BANGKOK: -- True Internet Thursday warned its customers against answering a questionnaire on a phishing website which disguised itself as a True Internet site to survey opinions of the customers.

True Internet general manager Wasu Khunwasi said in a press statement that the website was aimed at spreading spyware or malware to steal data of the customers who answered the questionnaire.

Wasu said True Internet has no policy to open a web page to survey opinions of its customers. If True Internet wants to conduct an opinion survey, emails will be sent to the customers or staffs will call the customers directly to check the opinions, he added.

Customers can check with True Internet at 02-900-9121 or 1686 on around the clock basis if they are not sure of any information or service from True Internet, the statement added.

True didn't inform me

Me neither.

I guess the phishing is in Thai language?

True should clarify that the Malware in their modems that redirects to their site was actually done by them, but the phishing is done by someone else.

I've got all kinds of different True accounts, and haven't heard or received anything from them on this issue.

Glad to see they're doing their customarily good job of effectively communicating with their customers.

Just make sure you have Kaspersky Internet Security installed on your PC and Phishing will not get through. Main problem is that many Thais and Farangs alike are too stingy to pay for proper protection.
