Hello :o

I am currently married to my thai wife since little over one year and i have a marriage visa that i have extended in Bangkok that runs out on December 2006. I extended this with 400,000 Baht in the bank account. Now i will need to renew it again, but the problem is i have used this money to fund a small business for my wife in Thailand, so i don't have it anymore right now for a new extension of one year. We don't have any cash flow problems however since i receive around 80,000 Baht per month from offshore income of a family business where i hold shares. The problem is only i don't have 400,000 Baht in the bank in December 2006 for a new one-year extension. How can i stay in Thailand legally to support my wife? I don't wish to go on tourist visas. Can i simply go to Penang every 3 months to get another "O" visa? Or will they stop issuing these if i don't extend it for 1 year in Bangkok?

My plan would be to leave for Penang in December 2006 to get another "O" visa, maybe double entry which will give me 6 months, but then i don't extend it until June 2007 which is when i will have the funds in the bank again to make the 1 year extension.

Thank you if anyone knows this :D

is the marriage extension financial requirement either/or like the retirement extensions. if it is, i don't think you should have any problem renewing your visa based on marriage. if you receive bank statements or pension documents showing your monthly income and also your thai bank book showing the money coming in from aboad every month in the amount you state, i would think that should be more than sufficient to renew the visa. if you are american, the embassy can notarize a proof of income statement that meets immigrations requirements.
