Re-entry for a tourist visa

Featured Replies

Is it possible to get a re-entry for a tourist visa, regardless whether or not it's single or double?

Yes

1000 Bht from an immigration office.

I assume you mean a re-entry permit.

You can get a re-entry permit to keep your 60 day entry and/or the 30 day extension valid when you re-enter the country. It gives you no extra days.

yes, a re-entry permit. I just have gathered information that it wasn't possible for tourist visas.

But since it is possible then that's great.

A re-entry permit can be obtained for any permit to stay.

The re-entry permit maintains your permission to stay when you return, not the visa. So you'll keep your existing 60 day (or 30 day if you got an extension of stay) permission to stay by using the re-entry permit.

On the arrival card when you return to Thailand, enter the re-entry permit number and check the permission to stay date stamp you get at immigrations. If they miss seeing your re-entry permit you might be given a visa exempt entry by mistake.

There was a time when re-entry permits were not available for entries made on tourist visas. That has not been the case for a long time now. No problem.
