judge me all you want, laught at me ok

i want to know if my appereance will not be tolerated in Thailand specially Bangkok (Krung Thep)

please i need help

first, i go barefoot everywhere, i go barefoot for health, religious and power reasons, i hate shoes, they made me a limp d*ck with little bunions and also i love going barefoot

will that be respected and tolerated with Thailand?

second, long hair, for religious purposes (and aesthethics purposes) i maintain my hair very long

will that be respected and tolerated in Thailand?

third, tattoos, i have half of my body tattoed but the tattoes are not big, from neck to hand to feet, righ side of my body tattoed

will that be respected and tolerated in Thailand?

im also very tanned, almost black

so in short i always go barefoot, very long hair (i will let it grow until feet and more, imagine that) and a lot of tattoos, and also almost black

in my country that make me discriminated, very discriminated and i also kind of sensible with words in part because of my childhood, but words are very powerful for everyone, i got kicked from some places for not wearing shoes and many people try to give me a hard time like when i buy something, talking to someone etc

some laught at me (many dont dare 'cause i look badass) but i dont mind laughing at me its kind of fun, unless they insult me thats when i pride is hurt, also strangely enough when someone ask me why i do it i get ashamed and hurt but when they only laugh i like it haha

my body is very aesthethic and im very young, 22, that make tolerance much bigger

my appereance resemblaces the sect of Sadhus in India, i could be tolerated and respected in India for being similar to Sadhus, but i love Thailand more it would be an honor to live in Thailand, so great country, India is my 2nd favorite country

i also training to become a professional athlete in freerun and i want to go with Thailand and Bangkok's flags, would be a great honor, i would love to be a Thai citizen in the future and give all i can give to this great country

i do this

I would think that if you walk barefoot everywhere you would not have bunions.

Bunions are suffered if you wear bad formed shoes. Old ladies suffer from them, from years and years of bad shoes.

Not very aesthetic.

Which one are you in the video?

Just be sure to wear a wife beater tee shirt and there shouldn't be a problem, you'll fit right in.

why a wife beater shirt?

Good luck in becoming a Thai citizen... Let us know how that works out for you...

As far as your appearance, you will fit right in with the crowd on Khao San Road in Bangkok...

thank you

i dunno Khao San Road have a lot of different people but worlds culture is similar in shoes and hair isnt it Loptr?, except in new zealand for shoes

Here's a straight answer. This, of course, is just my opinion: You will be looked at cuuriously by many, if not most, Thai people. There will also be many who look down on you, but few who will show this disdain obviously. In general, there will be less overt negativism towards you than in the west.

Having said that, you are choosing to enter a culture witthout adjusting to their norms of appearance, so you will be somewhat of a 'freak' to them. Howevver, Thais in general are very far along the spectrum towards tolerance, so I'm guessing you'll be accepted here much more than most places. There will be, I imagine, much talk behind your back and occasionally there will be times when you will be confronted and, at a minimum, asked about your choices.

Based on your description of your appearance, you will fit right in with the back-packer crowd that hangs out in hostels on Khao San Road and can be found in various tourist destinations in Thailand... Low-budget travelers trying to enjoy their travels on a limited budget, while their appearance is as bohemian as possible... Long hair, dreadlocks, piercings, barefoot, beggar pants and tie-died cloths are the standard attire... And no, you will not be accepted into general Thai society with that appearance... Don't let that deter you though as there are many folks here that really don't fit in anywhere else...

You might like to talk to a doctor about the advisability of repeatedly jumping barefoot from height onto concrete. In 20 years time you may regret what you are doing now.

All good, His feet are already wrecked from wearing shows in the first 20years of his life.....

thank you very much for your great information

monks go barefoot everywhere and are accepted and tolerated for logic as you say kannot people who go barefoot will be more accepted thanks to monks right?

no but i mean in a respect-dont--with-me way

because some try to harrass

They might not appreciate you jumping over their temple mumbo jumbo though

hahahaha

Probably more respect in Thailand than here on ThaiVisa.

why? is many people in this forum not respectful?

Appearance is very important in Thai culture and is seen as a reflection of internal merits.

Clean, well shaven and well dressed would be the way to go.

i agree with you fey, appearance is important, thank you for the information

i mean isnt appearance a reflection of people's temperament and character? i dont like making people feel inferior but arent people who are fat for example and would prefer to have a beautiful body a sign of not much willpower? because if they would have will power wouldn't they achieve the body they want? unless he/she is training for a pie eating contest haha

and for other things as well

funny but when we roll we distribute the impact with all the body

is explained here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBNaiNnNRfU minute 3:20

also funny cause you heard of heel strike? that u need shoes for run to give support and to reduce the impact etc? i experimente to ran 150km barefoot and with shoes ive always had pain in the knees, and umcorfortable in the waist, barefoot i always perfect my knees never hurt, also its more motivational to run because is much more fun and also easy

ive heard disinfo about barefoot even 2 podhiatrsits saying heels are better than vibram five fingers because 5fingers dont give any support, or other podhiatrist saying is bad to go barefoot because it doesnt give support

but whats crucial is not the support, its the tringle rounded shape of shoes, our feet would only match with square shape shoes, square form + triangle rounded shape = deform tthe square

shoe companies <deleted> with us, make us limp d*cks, specially considerin freud said human foot resemblaces penises, like the rpg 7

but even in the case if jumping onto concrete would be bad barefoot i would do it anyway and pay the price

HAHA

I think a self-portrait (selfie) of you would be useful to assist our members in determining if you would be "acceptable".

indeed Crossy, ill prefer to send one in the future as being barefoot at home acceptable, ill send a picture in thaivisa in the next months barefoot in Bangkok

or maybe youll be able to see it by searching crazy man in google images by some thai photograpth me haha

i give my word that ill send it, but the hair is still not very long it will have to pass years before it reachs feet

I mean this as respectfully as possible, but your posts to me seem to me to be of someone who believes they understand the world a lot better than most people. Such self belief is quite common for young people. When those young people speak about themselves and their strong beliefs, they often give the impression of arrogance--I would urge you to listen more than you speak and to realize that other people's choices can be just as valid for them as yours are (so far) for you. I would also, as an older person, urge you not to hold on too strongly to your beliefs. Be open to change.

One thing the OP has not mentioned is what visa he plans to acquire in order to stay in Thailand... You cannot simply enter Thailand and stay indefinitely...

And on top of that, I doubt very much if he can walk into an immigration office dressed like that, with no shoes and get an extension of his visa stay.

Lots have tried and they say come back tomorrow formally dressed..

i appreciate your opinion opporna

i mean i know but isnt what i say true? your comment would be much powerful if showing an example, thats what an ad hominem fallacy is about, but you are right young people are not as wise and tend many to be overconfident

i dont tend to say it much cause i dont want people to feel not superior but i have a superdotation in mathematical reasoning, i studied very much about human psychology and history, ive already expent thousands of dollars in books, therefore i consider myself to have great knowledge in sociology

i may be nor right, but i need proof of it, it may be fun and entertaining so i would like to see an example

what i like about what i say is that is very logical and simple

im very different from people, i may have have no social life and no friends even thou i have good social skills (i like to be solitary) but i have other things
