A group of dental and oral health students from regional New South Wales has had an eye-opening experience treating children and families in Cambodia.

Fourth-year dentistry student, Caitlin Crowley found it difficult to comprehend the level of dental problems among the patients she treated in Cambodia during a recent study tour.

"What we saw over there was quite horrific.

"There were lots of children in awful pain and some of the situations we saw them in you couldn't really fathom that happening here."
