Apply for a Non-Immigrant ED visa. That visa can be extended for a year at a time in Thailand with the help and assistance of Mahidol.

bact'
IMHO, it depends on the field your want to pursue. I guess that, for Mahidol U, you've got an offer from MUIC. MUIC has some areas of study that SIIT does not offers, and vice versa. For example, while SIIT offers a wide range of engineering programs MUIC doesn't has any of them. But, at the same time, SIIT doesn't has any social science & humanities programs, while MUIC has plenty of them. ---- For an offer letter of SIIT (for visa), try contact the Academic & Student Affairs division http://www.siit.tu.ac.th/ good luck na krub
bact'
for brief info about SIIT, try this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirindhorn_In...e_of_Technology and here is the list of schools/programs/options http://www.siit.tu.ac.th/program/files/SIITEng.pdf ---- if you have any question about SIIT, just feel free to drop us by at http://siit.net/webboard/ we're more than happy to answer everything that we can (post it in either in English, or Thai .. well, if you prefer ) cheers,

bact'
Just got a contact of MUIC and phone numbers of SIIT. International College, Mahidol University (MUIC) Tel: +66(0) 2441-0594~6, 2441-0648~9, http://www.muic.mahidol.ac.th/ Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University (SIIT) Tel. +66(0) 2986-9009, 2986-9101, 2564-3221~9 http://www.siit.tu.ac.th/ Try to contact them about your visa things ---- I guess (again) that your interest is science-related course. if it's a pure science, I will go for MUIC (Mahidol has a long reputation in medicine and natural science). but if it's an applied science (or engineering), I will go for SIIT (just look at its number of publications per faculty member). In general, not specific to any faculty or department, both universities (Mahidol and Thammasat) are very respectable in Thailand. Both are state university with long history and reputation. (Mahidol started from a medical school. while Thammasat, the 2nd oldest U in Thailand, started from a politics/law school. since then, both evolve and expand their academic offers n researches to many areas.) So it just depends on your field of interest
