Hi All,

I am in the Kingdom on a 60 day TR which I had originally planned to then convert to a Non Imm O upon marrying my Thai girl, after the required time.

Out of the blue, I have been offered a job here and would like to take it up.

What is my course of action now ?

To obtain a WP, I assume I have to have a Non Imm visa. Can I make that happen only 3 weeks into my stay ? Would I qualify in any way at this point ?

If anyone can assist with info on the steps to working my way through this, I would be ever so grateful.

Many thanks.

Your employer will have to apply for a work permit and get an approval letter for the application before you could get a non-b visa.

If you got married you could get a non-o visa and get the work permit and work with it. You could even use your income from working to prove the 40k baht income needed to apply for an extension based upon marriage.

Many thanks UbonJoe.

If I stick with the Non O path,I cannot apply for the O for another five weeks when my Thai bank account reaches 400k/8 weeks maturity.

I don't think the company is willing to wait any more than two weeks for me to start.

Would that then only leave me with the Non B option ? Does the WP have to come before, with or after the Non B application ?

Can the company expedite any of these processes or is it on my shoulders to have the visa sorted first, leaving the company to handle to WP ?

Many thanks.

You don't have to have the money in the bank for 2 months to get a non-o visa that is only required to apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage.

The work permit has to applied for first. Then when you have a non immigrant visa (B or O) it will be issued.

You cannot get a non-b visa at any nearby location without the work permit application approval letter.

Again, thank you UbonJoe.

Do you happen to know the validity of the NonImm B visa? Is it a one year visa? Are 90 day reports still a process when holding a B visa and a WP?

You will get a single entry non-b visa that will give a 90 day entry. Then you could get a one year extension of stay if the company, your salary and etc meets the requirements for one.

After you get the extension you would then do 90 day reports to immigration.
