NokScoot Japan flights - current / future status?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I'm looking at booking a flight to Japan late in the year. NokScoot's fares and timetable look attractive, but there is a disclaimer on the booking screen - 'subject to regulatory approval' or something. That makes me a bit nervous about booking, given the recent Thailand aviation troubles.

I know Japan placed restrictions on Thai carriers due to the ICAO audit failure. Can anyone tell me how this has affected NokScoot? Are they flying to Japan, and is there an upcoming review date at which time they may be barred from flying?

Much appreciated.

I, like you, haven't heard anything lately on this subject. However I recently made bookings for my annual visit to Japan (March 2016) with AirAsia and there were no issues like that encountered.

Thanks for your reply. I expected a flood of information, but there are obviously not many AvGeeks on the forum. smile.png

I also have made my booking with Air Asia just to be on the safe side. I prefer Scoot, but not worth the risk. And Jetstar seem to not offer direct flights to Japan even though there is a Jetstar franchise there, you have to backtrack via their Singapore hub.

I've always been happy with AirAsia (via KL) to Japan, although I fly Scoot occasionally to Oz via SIN.

Jetstar? Only when there is no other option and even then begrudgingly.
