Japan Airlines Flight 123 from Osaka to Tokyo crashes into a mountainside, killing more than 520 people.

any loss of life is tragic

I knew the aft Pressure bulkhead blew and took out the hydraulic lines which were all routed together in the particular area that gave way; I did not know the vertical stab was also lost. That was a sad day in aviation history. All because a fix was not properly done on known damage.

...To this day, it is unclear who issued the order denying U.S. forces permission to begin search and rescue missions

I am sure had those US marines gone in and found survivors more people would have survived...

A ***** big cover up, if the do not know who gave the order to abort...

This guy was on board, one of my favorite oldie song

Loss of face if foreign rescuers are first to the crash site?????

Waiting 39 minutes to die. How awful. sad.png

Yeah the worst part of this tragedy is that U.S offered to help but was declined initially by the Japanese to save face. Numerous people died just because of that.
