I work in the Middle East and have never before had to spend more that 90 days in Thailand. At present my 90 day allowance will expire on the 17th August.

I received a mail today stating I will return to work next week but have not been given an exact date. Just checking if it will be an issue if the job is cancelled or delayed and I go and make a land crossing at Chong Mek

Would I just pay a fine for a few extra days, or do I need to exit Thailand on the 17th to avoid any problems.

Would it be possible to go to Thai immigration and get a 1 month extension ?

If you married to a Thai you can apply for a 60 day extension to your wife at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht. If not the longest extension you can get is 7 days to leave the country.

The over stay fine is 500 baht a day. It only takes 3 days of over stay to pay the fee for a Lao visa.on arrival. Best to just go out for a new entry.

Joe many thanks for the fast reply, regarding the 7 day extension do you have the cost for that one.

Regarding the overstay fine can that be done at a land crossing or is this only done at the Airport prior to departure. I have never been on overstay before
