How safe are the Malls in Chiang mai

Op, as others have said, statistically speaking the roads here are probably a lot more dangerous than anything else you would face. In fact, if you have other options for where to raise your kids, you should probably consider it, as the worst thing a person can go through is that of burying a child.

Though we rarely if ever do it consciously, we make a lot of death-defying decisions based on perceived odds of failure. Flying is just one obvious example of many. There is a non-zero probability the plane will crash, and if it does the probability of survival is essentially zero. But we fly. Terrorist acts just add one more small risk to living, and life has never been risk free.

Yes, LarryBird, although it has nothing to do with the recent terror attack,or for that matter the safety of the roads, after 15 years here it looks like we are moving out next year.
