A new ambassador. Maybe a new start and a new understanding. The previous American regime has pushed Thailand to China. The US can encourage ASEAN and stop the Chinese expansion. But it needs to make friends in Asia, not bleat on about truth, freedom and the American way when we all know that is BS.

I know one of the countries has a major role in the Asia-Pacific region. I'm not sure about the other one.

The real question for the future is what American policy toward Thailand will be like under the administration of President Bernie Sanders.

The Donald may have something to say about that. lol
