The water will be shut off at 9am on Thursday (August 27) until the new pipe has been installed.

PHUKET: -- Residents along Chao Fa West Rd have been warned to prepare for their mains water supply to be shut off on (Thursday) August 27 as workers install a new mains pipe at a major pumping station in Vichit.

Chatchai Meechai, chief engineer of the water supply division at the Phuket Provincial Water Authority (PWA), said water supply pipe from the pump station near Phuket Villa 5 on Chao Fa West Rd will be shut off from 9am to 4pm.

“It will take time to remove the old water pipe and install the new one. We have to excavate the site, and we are not sure how long that will take. We will try to finish it on the one day,” he said.

The mains water supply along Kwang Rd and Chao Fa West Rd will be directly affected, Mr Chatchai said.

The PWA notice announcing the water works listed the following areas as key sites to be affected: Moo Baan Tinawut, Land & Houses 88 residential estate, Baan Villa 2 and Chao Fa Garden Home 5 (near Wang Thalang).

Other areas nearby may experience dramatic reductions in water pressure as a consequence of the water works being carried out.

So, its just a normal day in Phuket, maybe water, maybe not.

Not having power is one thing, not being able to flush is another. Better get all the buckets filled. whistling.gif
