Unusual share transfer suspects turn themselves in



BANGKOK: -- A female broker charged with falsifying official documents and theft involving the 300-million baht share transfer scandal, and her mother turned themselves in to the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police today to defend their innocence.

Miss Uracha Vachirakulthon and her mother Ms Srithana Phromma were escorted by a lawyer when they reported to the CSD to face the charges.

Both are among four suspects wanted by CSD for their involvement in the 300-million baht unusual share transfer.

The share was transferred to Ms Uracha and Ms Kanthana Sivatanapol, also a stock broker, by billionaire contractor Chuwong Sae Tang a few days before he died in a van crash June 26

His death remains a mystery if it was an accident as earlier assumed by local police or was a staged accident.

Miss Uracha denied all charges saying she received the shares, worth about 40 million baht, legitimately from Mr Chuwong.

She admitted to have close affairs with Mr Chuwong, and also knew Pol Lt Col Banyin Tangphakorn, who turned himself in to CSD police yesterday to face the same charges.

CSD police are questioning her and her mother and will escort them to the court later this afternoon for permission for detaining them for further questioning.

Earlier yesterday Pol Lt Col Banyin alkso turned himself in to police.

He was sent to the court and was freed on a 5 million baht bail by the Criminal Court which set condition that he must not leave the country, must not interfere with circumstantial evidence surrounding the mysterious death.

This is looking more and more like Banyin orchestrated everything, including Chuwong's murder. I wonder how much the girls were told they could keep and how much they had to kick back to Banyin? I also wonder if Kanthana is carrying Chuwong's baby, and if they used her pregnancy as part of the share transfer scheme? I am hoping one of the pretties will spill her guts eventually for a lighter sentence and pin this whole thing on him.

Your post assumes there is a police force that wishes to nail Banyin. The police have agendas but nailing the bad guys is not one of them.

Because they have status, they can bend the rules. The cops might have simply charged them Mask 1000 Baht, Sunnies 2000 Baht. Big F Off sunnies 4000 Baht.

Your post assumes there is a police force that wishes to nail Banyin. The police have agendas but nailing the bad guys is not one of them.

Just investigate and release even if their passport is false.
